Technology
Literacy Challenge Fund Grants
This project began with the following grants.
TLCF Grant Cycle II Regional
Grant 1998-1999
Berrien RESA provided funding for the
head end equipment, while local districts provided funding
for telecommunications costs and for equipment for distance
learning classrooms. The monies requested through this grant
proposal funded a distance learning coordinator to provide
training and support, as well as schedule programming, for
the distance learning system. Additionally, a large portion
of the grant funds were used to help local districts purchase
the hardware needed to establish distance learning classrooms.
And finally, the grant funds provided general technology support
and professional development activities to those schools participating
in the consortium. This grant was funded by the Michigan Department
of Education in the form of a Technology Literacy Challenge
Grant in the amount of $450,000.
TLCF Grant Cycle III Regional
Grant 1999-2000
The initiative supported distance
learning activities for the SouthwestNet collaborative by
way of providing professional development and support in the
creation of distance learning activities and training in how
to effectively deliver distance learning classes.
