Videoconference Project: Top Ten

This project was created as an assignment in Planning Interactive Curriculum Connections, an online class offered by Berrien RESA and taught by Janine Lim.

Project Title: Top Ten

Brief Description:
This VC can be based on the top ten facts for any benchmark. The VC can be adapted to Math, English, Social Studies, Science, Study Skills, and Current Events etc. This requires the participants to ID the Benchmarks for their state on an individual basis. A partnership with a class could be built on the Top Ten VC idea. Peers checking Peer's learning is the bottom line.

How this VC would look; presenting the top ten facts in a particular topic is shared between the sites connected. Each site presents their top ten facts and then listens as the other site(s) present their top ten facts. For example, in Social Studies, the top ten facts of a country, following the five themes of geography, is shared with another site and visa versa.

Project Time Frame:
This would be a good review lesson for a class to tie up a topic and do a self assessment of learning that occurred. A class of middle school students would need approximately two hours to make their presentation at the end of teaching the correlating Benchmarks. The presentation would be just an hour at the most and 30 min. at the least.

How to sign up:
Coordination between the two teachers should be done with email or phone calling.
