This project was created as an assignment in Planning Interactive Curriculum Connections, an online class offered by Berrien RESA and taught by Janine Lim.
Topic: U.S. Presidents and First Ladies
Description: This distance learning project is designed for elementary school students learning about the presidents and their first ladies of the United States. Through a 30-40 minute video conference students are able to meet other students in their age group, while learning and reviewing facts about US presidents and first ladies. Each classroom will present a maximum of three, five minute presentations which include verbal, written, and visual clues about a US president of First Lady. While one classroom presents the classrooms watching the presentations will take notes and will try to discover the identity of the person being discussed. The two classes will switch roles. After researching the key event using encyclopedias, text-books, class notes, and the Internet, each group will then e-mail their guesses to each other’s classrooms. The presenting group will e-mail back an additional clue and the correct answer.

On a first come first serve basis. Since we are new at this, we would probably like to try a point-to-point with one third grade class.Technical Info: We have an ATM site, into which we can bridge ISDN or IP connections for those persons outside of Maine. Any line charges for ISDN connections would be the responsibility of the participating site.
