Videoconference Project: H is for Holland

This project was created as an assignment in Planning Interactive Curriculum Connections, an online class offered by Berrien RESA and taught by Janine Lim.

Title: H is For Holland - a 30 minute video conference presented by the students of Pine Ridge Christian School, Holland, MI

Because our fourth graders spend a good portion of the school year studying Michigan, we've decided to use the book, "M is for Mitten" as a guideline, and present to you our version of the book. We've called our presentation, "H is for Holland". Using pictures that we've drawn, and text that we've written, we'll take you on an ABC tour of Holland, Michigan. We'll make "stops" along the way to discover information about the economy, the history, the people and the adventures to be found in the West Michigan area.

The teachers need only act as facilitators, my students, using a document camera will do all of the presenting. Following the presentation, there will be a short time for questions. This is a good "wrap up" or review for any class studying about Michigan, or for any who want to learn more about our area of the state. We'd love to have your class/group present information about your area as well!

You can sign your class up for this presentation (limited to one class at a time), by contacting me at: driemersma@hollandchristian.org. The deadline to register is May 1, 2006. The connections can take place any afternoon between 1:00-3:00 and can be done either by IP or ISDN.
