This project was created as an assignment in Planning Interactive Curriculum Connections, an online class offered by Berrien RESA and taught by Janine Lim.
Macromedia Flash is an animation software program with infinite learning objectives. The multi-media class (BIMM) in Lago Vista High School and other BIMM classes learn, struggle, and hopefully master the basics of the program. Along the way most students (and teachers) encounter the same ?snafus?. It might be a more meaningful learning experience if the students were able to exchange ideas with others in the same situation. My VC sessions would allow multi- media (BIMM) classes to interact, demonstrating and discussing common problems/solutions that they have encountered.
Time frame: In January, 2007, a set of trouble spot topics would be sent to selected BIMM classes in Area XIII.
The VC meeting dates would be:
- March 21, 2007, 2:00 ? 3:00 CST
- May 16, 2007, 2:00 ? 3:00 CST
How to sign up: Contact Justin Snider, justin_snider@lagovista.txed.net
Participants: Our Conference center is equipped with an IP connection. The conference would be able to handle three classes (usually the BIMM classes are small). Deadline to sign up for March VC is February 15, 2007. Unless there is a drop out, the same schools who are signed up for the March VC will also participate in the May meet. If there is a vacancy, a waiting list may be maintained. 10.64.205.28 is the IP address.
Pre-session activities:
* January, 2007: An invitation would be emailed to BIMM teachers in ESC Region XIII, detailing the VC meeting dates, times, and topics: Solving Common Problems in Macromedia Flash. Deadline dates for sign up would be also given.
* January 10, 2007 ? instruction in Flash begins. Problems (instructor has a pre-determined list of problems to be discussed, but new ones always come up) will be noted as they arise in class. Students will be assigned to prepare to ?solve and discuss? that problem for the VC. The assigned student will choose one partner to work with for their demonstration of problem solution (using the projector).
* February 15, 2007 ? Deadline for sign up. Notify schools that will be participating.
* March 7 -11, 2007 ? Tips for an Effective Videoconference will be presented to class. Rehearsal for VC.
* March 21, 2007: First VC (THERE WILL BE A PROJECTOR AND COMPUTER WITH FLASH SET UP IN EACH CONFERENCE CLASSROOM). My student pairs will be the demonstrators, discussing and showing on the projector the possible solutions to the problem.Project by Justin Snider
