This project was created as an assignment in Planning Interactive Curriculum Connections, an online class offered by Berrien RESA and taught by Janine Lim.
Problem: How does air pressure affect the boiling point of a substance?
Objectives: At the end of the vc the learners should be able to: 1) discuss vapor pressure vs. atmospheric pressure; 2) explain at the particle level what boiling is; 3) explain how atmospheric pressure affects boiling
Actvities: Students from different locations (at sea level, below sea level and above sea level) will do the same lab experiment and will trade data.
Materials: VC equipment, lab equipment needed for the experiment
Student Participation: Students will be expected to perform the required lab. Each group of stuents will then analyze and evaluate their own data. Then as a final activity, they will organize, present and communicate their conclusion to each other.
Teacher Prep: Network with other teachers who would be willing to do this multi-point VC. Prepare the students with background lessons and also the guidelines for a successful VC.
