News from the BHS Guidance Office

Welcome Back Students!

2005-06 Class Schedules:

Student Schedules for the 2005-06 school year will be included in your "student packet" which will be available from the BHS Office beginning on Tuesday August 23, 2005.

Schedule Changes

Students can make changes to their schedules beginning on Tuesday August 23rd through Tuesday September 6th. Pick up a schedule change form in the Guidance Office.  Beginning on September 7th there will be no more schedule changes untill second semester!

Start Dates:

Bridgman High School: August 29, 2005 1/2 day of school.

Berrien County Math and Science Center: August 29, 2005- Afternoon program only for Juniors and Seniors.  First day for all students - August 30,2005

BCISD Career & Technical Programs (Shared Time Programs):August 31, 2005. Students report to Bridgman High School for orientation August 29, 2005

Prospective College Athletes – You will need to meet the eligibility requirements of the NCAA in order to participate in sports at the college level. You will need to register with the NCAA at the end of your junior year. http://www.ncaaclearinghouse.net/

 

Seniors

Senior Portfolio Day- Portfolio Day will be held the first Monday in May.  All graduating seniors are required to complete a personal portfolio.  On May 6th each eligible senior will present his or her portfolio to a committee of faculty and community members for inspection.  Students who do not present a portfolio will not be allowed to participate in the graduation ceremonies on June 5, 2005.

A job shadow review must be included in your portfolio.  According to the Bridgman High School graduation requirements established by the Bridgman Board of Education each student must complete a job shadowing experience during their high school career.  Any senior who has not completed his or her job shadowing experience should do so immediately.  See Mr. Longstreet for any information.  Pick up an information packet from Mrs. Luhrsen in the Media Center.
