Technology Integration Classes

To register, call Jo at 269-471-7725, ext. 149. Unless otherwise indicated, classes do NOT include meals. Registration deadline is one week before the class begins. If you’re taking a course for credit, the cost of graduate tuition is above and beyond the course cost and is the responsibility of the participant.

Cancellation Policy:

  • Refunds for any workshop will be made only if the BCISD is notified two (2) business days before the start of the activity.
  • If the Berrien Springs Public School District is closed due to inclement weather, then all BCISD sponsored trainings, workshops, etc., will be cancelled.

Start Blogging Now

Enough of simply hearing about blogs, it’s time to start your own! In this session you’ll create your own blog at http://yourname.wordpress.com and get it ready for public consumption. In addition, we’ll look at some examples of how both teachers and students are using blogs as teaching and communication tools.

All Together Now: Online Collaboration Tools

The World Wide Web is more than just a research tool, it's a way of connecting to the world outside your classroom walls. Come explore ways you and your students can use free online resources to create and share meaningful content with wikis, discuss important issues on teacher-moderated discussion boards, and collaborate with others using new web tools.

Creating "Online Learning Experiences" with Moodle

Wondering how to give your students an online learning experience? Use Moodle, a tool available at no cost from the ISD to create and manage an online extension of your classroom. Moodle allows you to create a password protected site where you can create online assignments, have students upload documents, facilitate online discussion, take quizzes, and more. Most of what you would traditionally "hand out" to students can be made available online for them to access. Using Moodle is free and easy!

123 VC! Jazzing up Your Curriculum with Videoconferencing

Are you ready to create dynamic pages for your classroom, students, and parents? Dreamweaver is a powerful, yet easy to use tool that allows you to edit, publish, and manage your web site. Participants in this two-day workshop will develop and publish a classroom or school web site. Participants are encouraged to bring photos, students work, favorite web sites, and any other resources relevant to their web site.
